This was designed for an Anti-Racism Festival in 2010. What first caught my attention was how each handshake was reciprocated with a gun being pointed to the other person. I interpreted this as a sign of agreement or respect, however trust was not given on either sides. I also noticed the abundance of red, and when taking the handshake into perspective the red can denote passion or love, whereas if you look at the guns, then the red can symbolize war and violence. I feel like this speaks volumes, not only for racism, but for people with any differing views, and how despite trying to come to turns with tolerating one another, there is this underlying sinister feeling of mistrust.
